The scripture was, Psalm 5:3, “In the morning, O Lord,
you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in
expectation.”
The Lord hears our
requests and we can wait in expectancy for Him to bring great things into our
lives.

I just want to take a moment to brag on God. He is so
good to us! Yesterday morning I asked God if He could help me find a scripture
for a friend that was going through a hard time. I couldn’t remember where I
had read it but I wanted to send it to her to lift her up. Later that evening I
grabbed my Bible and as soon as I opened it up, there it was! The scripture
that I had asked God to help me find. I quickly picked up my phone and texted
it to my friend and told her how God helped me to locate that scripture just for
her. She was glad to hear it. Thank you God for helping me be an encouragement
to my friend!

Another thing that God is teaching me and that I have
heard in church over the last few months is to pray the promises of God. This
has really helped me to focus on His Truth and realize that the Word of God should
supersede every thought that I have.
I can let things go that begin to overly concern me and
trust God to take care of me and do what He says He will do. So when a worry
starts to come in my mind, I take hold of a scripture that tells me what is actually true and what I should be thinking. When my mind is
focused on Him, it is clear and then the Holy Spirit guides me into greater
truth.
So I challenge you to
let this become a habit if it is not already. Find those promises that are
specific to your situation to give yourself hope because God says that He has “plans
to give you a hope and a future” – Jeremiah 29:11.

There is something that God has been teaching me for the
last few months and it has really given me a new perspective on how important
each encounter is that we are given. I can be very task oriented and sometimes
choose the task over people’s feelings. I don’t always see it at the time but
when I look back I see that I could have been more sensitive and I am quick to apologize.
When I have work to do, I make a detailed agenda to help
me get things done quickly, efficeintly, and on time. I focus on what I have to do for that
day and the best way to get it done. As soon as I get to the place that I need
to be (whether it be work, church, the store) I take off running and follow my
plan and stick to it.
I see now, how I have chosen my to-do list over
relationships and people. I am more aware now that there are people where ever
I go that need to talk and I need to be sensitive to that. There are encounters
that God puts in front of me and I can’t rush by them anymore. The Lord has shown me
how there is blessing for others when I choose to be flexible. He is trying to
use me and there are people that need reaching out to or need to be prayed for.
I have made it a habit now to literally take my agenda in
my hands and ask God to take my agenda and to plan whatever He wants to for my
day and my year. I pray for Him to intervene and I have seen how He always
causes things to turn out even better than I imagined. I still have an agenda
and goals I need to accomplish at work or when I volunteer but I have made a
commitment to let God lead me throughout the day even if it means taking me off
my agenda.

Hello Blog
Readers! :) I shared this with some friends a couple months ago and wanted to post it on my
blog. I heard it on the radio and I often remember this great piece of wisdom:
Essentially the speaker was comparing love to a muscle. The more we use our
muscles the stronger they become. In the same way, the more we use love, the
more we exercise it and the greater our ability to love becomes. When we
exercise our muscles to make ourselves stronger, our muscles can become sore
and they hurt. When we use our love there are times when we will unfortunately
get hurt by others. But as we exercise forgiveness and continue to practice
love, it is then that our love is strengthened. ♥

I usually start off my prayers with, “God I thank you for, fill in the blank.” This morning I was in
my car driving over to my friend’s house and I started to pray. I said, “God, I
thank …” And then I stopped because I couldn’t think of what to say first. I
had so much that I could say to fill
in the blank. So then I smiled and started again and said, “God, I thank you that
I have so much to be thankful for.”

Thank you again to all my readers and to God who
encouraged me to start this blog to get me on my way towards my dream of publishing
a book one day.
In case you haven’t read, I made a commitment to post
every week. I’d also like to turn on the comments part of this blog soon. I hope you will write! I love to hear from my readers. <3 I
will keep you updated. :) Thank you.
At first when I started this blog, I intended to post whenever I felt
that God was giving me a word. There was nothing wrong with that except that I
started to post less often very quickly. It wasn’t that God wasn’t talking, it
was that I stopped posting because I started thinking in the natural. You see, I
kept thinking that if I made a commitment to post every week that it might be
forced and wouldn’t turn out good. Or I thought that if I wrote too much this
week, then I wouldn’t have anything left to post next week. Lol. What I failed
to realize was that God is my great Provider. He can supply anything. Even if I
feel like I don’t have anything to start with, no matter what the situation, I
can step out in faith and I will see Him show up. He is faithful and can
move in a powerful way if I’d just open up that opportunity. I have a BIG God
that can do above and beyond anything that I can ask or think. (Ephesians 3:20).
He will meet all my needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
